Top tips for making the home cosy for winter

Even though the temperatures outsides are decreasing with an increased tempo, this doesn’t mean that you cannot turn your home into an epitome of a warmth and cosiness. And the fun part is that for this to happen you do not have to turn up the heat. Just follow these top tips, and you will have a home that is winter-friendly.
Invite warm colours into your home
All of the shades of red, orange, gold and terracotta provide an instantaneously cosy sensation of fire hued home, and if you want to achieve this, you need to think about repainting those white walls now. You are not sure if you like colours that are so intense? Then you can opt for pastel yellow, brick and even rust tones that will deliver the same sensation and provide the same warming effects. If repainting is out of the question, then you can always opt for certain furniture pieces that are adorned with these similar colour shades.
Flickering effect of fire
If installing a fireplace is something that is out of your budget abilities, then you can replace the flickering of the fireplace with the flickering light of candles. You can buy at least three small cinnamon scented candles, fire them and place them on the coffee table. Although the glow of the light creates an incredibly warm intimate ambience, you need to employ all of the safety fire protection precautions and remove all of the fire hazards pieces that surround the coffee table.
Cover the bare floors
The bare floors look incredibly enticing and clean, however they can be the epitome of coldness, so the first thing you need to do is cover them. The best choice are the area rugs that give the eyes and the toes the feel of warmth.  You can buy area rugs that are made out of wool, and although they can be incredibly pricey, they come hand in hand with longevity, which means that you will be able to use them for a long period of time. For an added feel of warmth, purchase area rugs in fire hued shades.
Winter accessories
Tulips and daffodils make an utterly inviting spring accessories, however as soon as the winter comes knocking on the door, you need to banish all of the floral arrangements from your room and replace them with pinecones, fleece pillows and birch log accessories and prints. Although these details are really miniature, they will make your home appropriately wintery decorated.
Cinnamon scent
Nothing speaks winter as cinnamon. You can warm up your home just by replacing all of the soap bars with cinnamon scented bars, and you can serve your guests beverages that have just a hint of cinnamon in them. If cinnamon is not your choice of favourite spices, then you can replace it with scent of apples or even bayberry.
Keep chills at bay
Add some personalized furniture throw covers in warm colours on your sofa, or add some fluffy, warm pillows on your favourite chair. This way you can enhance the intimate, warm effect, plus you can always keep the chills at bay.
